In my Pisces Full Moon Eclipse video, I described the eclipse as being representative of the larger precessional cycle shift from the Cross of Planning to the Cross of the Sleeping Phoenix. I also spoke to this desperate fight for resources via our waterways, symbolized by Mars in Cancer in the 2nd house applying to a square to Saturn intercepted in the 11th house.
And a few days after the eclipse as the Sun was applying to an opposition of the Sun-North Node conjunction of the initial attack in February with Mars having just perfected a square to Saturn, the US staged a surprise attack on Iran again.
This attack came just days after Scott Bessent announced the D-Day sanctions on Iran, further eroding U.S. dominance by weaponizing the dollar on a much larger scale. That decision and this surprise attack have led to extreme market volatility and what appears to be a global bond crisis. This attack happening directly on the Cross of Planning, further confirms our transition into a New World Order.
The New Moon
The New Moon is at 18° Virgo, the second Decan of Virgo, which is related to the 9 of Pentacles.
The 9 of Pentacles draws on the Hermit’s self-sufficiency; his independence and comfort in solitude. But solitude is not a natural state for the Empress, who above all fosters connection and growth. It can be lonely at the top!
Decan observers of the past defined this decan as signifying increase, “accumulation of substance,” frugality, even greed; The Golden Dawn called this card the Lord of Gain. How do we come by gain? By taking in faster than we expend, or taking in while not expending at all.
We can also think of ‘gain’ as that differential created by the outer appearance vs the inner reality; the image we put on in order to meet the world. The question is: does that outer glamor connect us to, or separate us from, that which we seek? - T. Susan Chang
Thw New Moon is on the Cross of Rulership with the Sun in Gate 47 hanging off the Ajna Center, it's the center symbolizing understanding - where we try to make sense of things. We are still in the Quarter of Duality where we encounter the person on the other side, our relationship to the other.
Ra describes gate 47 as a deep mental gate … its only concern is the mundane material plane. The only way the 47th gate can relieve itself from anxiety is to have access to resources. "The 47 doesn't look up into the sky, the 47 looks immediately into its pocket. And if there isn’t anything in its pocket, it gets really upset".
Gate 47 (Virgo) finds its balance in the opposition, gate 22 (Pisces) hanging off the emotional center, labeled "social openness". The unconscious environmental themes are centered in the throat (Gemini) and the ego (Sagitarrius): The influencer of the material direction (gate 45) vs. the more intimate and aggressive sales person (gate 26).
This cross and line in particular is about the ability to bring in resources in unique ways and often behind the scenes. This can symbolize criminal means like embezzlement or simply unconventional ways like loopholes or insider knowledge. For example, the Venezuela Oil agreement.
A Personal Perspective
Where does 18° Virgo sit in our chart? The house the New Moon is in and Personal Planets that aspects this new moon will give you clues about this new cycle.
Questions you might ask yourself on this New Moon. What does self sufficiency mean to you? Do you have anxieties around keeping up with appearances? What are you trying to accomplish in the outer world and does it match your inner reality? Are you happy with this striving for self sufficiency? If you are having anxieties around money: What creative partnerships might you need to open yourself up to in order to relieve some of the mental pressure around your resources?
This doesn't necessarily mean that you need to compromise your values or your worth. The reality is that we are somewhat trapped in a system that is beyond our control and difficult to escape, but this system is built on collective faith and it need not make us feel powerless. We do have a certain amount of power to create partnerships to create new systems of resource trading. Open yourself up to these opportunities and you may be surprised at what shows up.
