I recently did a deep dive presentation for OPA about the Antichrist that I’d like to share with you. In this presentation, I take a deep dive into the history of the Antichrist and how it has helped shaped American’s self understanding.
So how did I get here? What is it about the Antichrist that grabbed my attention during this specific time? I started to research this topic at the end of 2024 when astrologer Ray Grasse shared a video of tech icon, Peter Thiel, presenting on the Antichrist for the Hoover Institute. This was one in a series of shocks I had during this time.
First the astrology: I was born in 1975 when Neptune was in Sagittarius conjunct the North Node. Neptune is part of a YOD in my chart, with Saturn in Cancer (conjunct the United State’s Sun), and Mercury in Aquarius. I just celebrated my Chiron Return in Aries with the United States.
I grew up in an Evangelical family. The rapture and the “end of times” prophecy was central to our faith. I remember when I left for college, the last time Saturn was in Pisces, having nightmares about the “end of times”. I had rebelled and stopped going to church years earlier, but this fear was deeply attached to my psyche.
I moved to NYC in 2001 right before 9/11, where I eventually got a job in technology. I was surrounded by scientists and technologists, hyper-materialists, self-proclaimed rationalists. During this period, I considered myself an agnostic and rarely explored my spirituality. Little did I know, transiting Neptune and Pluto had drifted the furthest apart from their opening sextile during this decade.
As they drifted closer again (around 2011), I found myself confronting my family’s faith once again, but from a political perspective, as the fight against gay marriage intensified. It seemed somewhat coherent to me, the eventual comparison of Obama with the Antichrist because the narrative was consistent with what I remembered about the evangelical perspective of this prophecy: fear of the other, fear of a one world order, secular media, and technology were all wrapped into this fight against the amoralism of modernism.
In 2018, while I was experiencing my Uranus Opposition, I was prompted to move out of NYC and to revisit my spiritual past from a deeper perspective. But it wasn’t until my Chiron Return last year, that I found myself coming back full circle to this topic from a completely different perspective
Here I was, seeing this presentation promoting the Antichrist from a tech VC, while the United States had just chosen an Evangelical for the Speaker of the House. This marriage of the government, technology, and the Antichrist was such a cognitive dissonance for me. I couldn’t wrap my head around it. Astrology can be really helpful at these times.
