Waking Up
As Saturn and Neptune inched closer together, still at the last degrees of Pisces, we started to see clear signs of our allies waking up. It’s finally sinking in that the old order has ruptured so much that it can no longer be saved. We are entering a new world order, one that must be faced with both honesty and directness, the Aries archetype.
With the Nodes in the Channel of Community, the North Node in the Gate of Friendship and line labeled Leadership by Example, some leaders are rising to the top. World leaders like Mark Carney who delivered a speech in Davos that resonated so much with this Saturn-Neptune cycle.
People were surprised by his speech, because he’s usually more subdued and tends to stay out of the spotlight. But Uranus has entered his 1st house, which disrupts his identity and how other people see him. Most importantly, the North Node conjunct his natal Saturn during this speech. He recently experienced a Saturn Return and many of his natal planets are on the Virgo-Pisces axis. He’s been preparing for this moment.

Thought-leaders like Dr Stacey Patton called attention to another side of this clarity. In response to his speech, she said:
The most dangerous part of “the end of the illusion” is not that the lie is dying. It’s that a new common sense is being born. A common sense that says that some people will always be on the menu. Black people, immigrants, and colonized people have lived in that world for a long time. What’s changing is that the people who once felt insulated from it are finally being told the truth, which is that the protection was never meant for them.
She paints a much harsher view of the future than Mark Carney. One that the pragmatic side of me feels I must prepare for, while the optimistic side of me hopes-against-all-hopes won’t last for long. Aquarius, at the end of the day, is a pragmatically optimistic sign. Capricorn tends to be more depressive. I have to include this quote from T. Susan Chang about this Decan of Aquarius so you can hold some hope in your heart too:
The purifying stream, the rebirth of hope. Here – excommunicated, unique, untethered - we are free to look back upon civilization we left behind and imagine what a better world might look like. We are free to think outside the box - in fact we have no choice but to, because there is no going back inside it.
Forsaking the familiar and striking out for new lands. The name of the game is RISK. Abandoning comfort and embracing hope. 5 of Swords, the long dangerous journey of the immigrant or refugee. Leaving behind everything that once sheltered us, we strike out for a life where we begin with nothing - nothing but freedom.
Human Design New Year
If you read or watched my 2026 preview, you’ll remember my analysis of the Human Design New Year Chart which happened on January 21st. This New Year chart was activated the day after Trump’s speech in Davos. If you remember, I cautioned that if we tried to force things during this time, they would not work. Jupiter was exactly conjunct Trump’s design Mars-Saturn conjunction in the Gate of Beginnings. His Mars and Saturn are in detriment here, describing the backlash he experiences when he takes hasty actions after experiencing a bit of success. He is eager to force the new cycle ahead because he does not have the patience to wait any longer. But he will most likely pay a price for his impatience.
Saturn is still in the last line of the Gate of Crisis, a crisis that feels manipulative as we are all looking beyond, looking forward to motiveless action. Saturn is also in detriment here, describing:
A profound sorrow and cynicism that is not diminished by the understanding that darkness is self.annihilating. 'Darkness' is ignorance. Madness looms as long as there is ignorance. Ignorance is the great darkness.
Neptune has just entered Aries today, January 26th, where it will now be ruled by transiting Mars. Mars perfects a conjunction to Pluto in Aquarius on January 27. Whatever happens during this Mars-Pluto conjunction, will bring us into a new reality. We will begin to see through the veil of motiveless action on the 28th, as Saturn joins Neptune in gate 25, the Gate of Innocence.
This applying conjunction has already been playing out as the tensions rise in Minneapolis after ICE officers shoot another U.S. citizen on Saturday. The Administration added fire to the flame by immediately describing events that video evidence clearly disputes. This Administration seems to have made a calculated bet that their false soundbites describing leftist terrorists will be believed by enough people to be worth it.
Full Moon in Leo
This pressure intensifies leading up to the Full Moon in Leo on February 1st. The Queen’s Moon, as Raven Kaldera calls it. This Full Moon points to the possibility of acting out for attention, cautioning us against overreach. Kaldera specifically describes someone born during this Full Moon as: "at their best ruling a small intimate kingdom, shining their light, drawing people in rather than extending beyond their reach and losing control of those at the edge of her kingdom."

This Full Moon highlights Trump’s natal Out-of-Bounds Pluto to the North. We clearly see Trump's desire for empire expansion play out as he expands his reach toward the Northern Hemisphere and appoints himself as Chairman of the newly minted "Board of Peace".
I’ve heard people describe Trump's actions as akin to the New Imperialism, so I decided to look up some common dates defining this period. One of the dates is the Berlin Conference, otherwise known as the Congo Conference. This was a conference that attempted to organize "the scramble for Africa" so that countries would not go to war with each other over territory.
I noticed that this chart's Neptune, at 21° Taurus, was at the very degree of the recent Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in 2024. This degree trines the United States' natal Neptune at 22° Virgo. It also happens to be Hitler’s birthday. This degree falls in the Human Design gate 23, called “Splitting Apart” in the line labeled “Fragmentation”.

The Berlin conference brought together other European leaders to define Africa's fate, leaving out the leaders of Africa entirely. And instead of keeping war at bay, it introduced a pressure cooker that led to World War 1.
It reminded me of the Board of Peace, originally organized to decide the fate of Palestine, ignoring the people of Palestine altogether. And here we go again, splitting apart from our allies further fracturing the power of the West
How little we seem to learn from history. But perhaps we have little choice in this. Even those who understand the bigger cycles like venture capitalist Ray Dalio, seems to have made the wrong bet. He chose Donald Trump, who is now pushing us even more aggressively toward the end of the Western Empire that Dalio kept warning other business leaders about.
Ivan Krastev, on a recent episode with John Stewart, highlighted the hubris of thinking one can control a revolution. The revolution frequently takes on a life of its own. We are part of a larger wave that crests and falls, and as much as we keep trying to control nature, it slips so easily out of our grasp.
6/2 Cross of Refinement
This Full Moon falls on the Cross of Refinement. In this line, there is a tendency to disassociate. Like a hypersensitive sulking child, it’s a Full Moon that fuels avoidance. There is a dissociation because there is a breakdown in the bargain that has united us since World War II.
You can see this connected to the two emotional channels connected for the entire collective during this Full Moon: the Nodes make up the Channel of Community, and the Sun, Mercury, and Venus make up the Channel of Synthesis.
The Channel of Synthesis themes are about the bargain, contracts and agreements with one’s group. Combined with the Community Channel it’ll be about the breakdown of the loyalty to our communities for the resources that we need (tariffs, budgets, defense, constitutional rights).
And if you look at the chart located in Washington DC, you see the Full Moon is on the Ascendent Descendent with Mars just separating from Pluto and approaching the Sun. The MC-IC is at the final degrees of Aries-Libra with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in the 9th house, creating an Inconjunct with the IC. It seems to reflect the adjustment that the people have to make as we are forced to leave our old alliances behind.
You can see this also reflected in the Sibley chart as Mars has just separated from a conjunction with the South Node. Mars triggers separation, fractures and our past is one of revolution or separation from England. Neptune is approaching the IC so there is a veil around American’s roots. People are suddenly asking everywhere. Who are you? We are also asking this internally. Who are we?

As Saturn moves into Aries, our new reality will surely start to settle in soon. Two days after this Full Moon, Uranus will turn direct and then we will experience a New Moon Eclipse right before the Saturn-Neptune conjunction on the 20th. Mars will be in the Gate of Revolution during this conjunction, right on the MC of the chart placed in Washington D.C.. Expect a wild ride that will change us forever.
Brace yourself and try not to lose your head during this time. Stand up for what you believe in, but remember that group energies can very easily get out of control. Protect yourself as much as possible. Most importantly don’t forget your health and well-being. If we don’t have that, we don’t have anything.
