Ra Uru Hu describes this New Moon in Cancer's placement as a deep, dark force that can be transformative if we don’t resist the tension it creates. It’s similar to how Pluto operates. Pluto works on our emotional body, because that’s what leads to lasting change. It can be necessary to evolve us through catastrophic experiences, because we have a tendency to get stuck in our habitual responses to the world. Even harmful habits can be something we latch onto as an anchor of familiarity in an otherwise changing environment. We can also over-identify with others for the familiarity we seek. If we resist Pluto’s call, these catastrophic experiences can ramp up until we have no choice but to give into its power.
The New Moon is the final dispositor for all planets in this chart. It’s out-of-bounds and in the Moon Deccan of Cancer, so double Moon energy. But it’s on a Saturn degree, which emphasizes the theme of this Deccan. This Cancer Deccan is related to the 4 of Cups which examines the nature of scarcity vs. surplus.

In the 4 of Cups, we encounter questions surrounding what is enough, and what is left to be desired. It is a complex card, because it evokes opposing states: scarcity vs. surplus, temptation vs. apathy. An outstretched hand offers a cup full of who knows what—fine wine? arsenic? divine grace? freedom from pain? Whatever it is, our jaded friend is having none of it. Luxury and desire have a curious inverse relationship: Great desire attaches to luxuries you cannot or do not have. But once you have them, almost inevitably, desire wanes. This cycle—how it dies, and how it is renewed—is the subject of this card. - T. Susan Change
It may be helpful to meditate on these questions: Who do you identify as your source of security? what destiny fantasies do you hold onto thinking you will finally arrive when you get to this imagined place? What desire once fulfilled have you fallen out of favor with? What are you now attempting to fill your cup with: is it a bottomless desire you are attempting to fulfill? Where might you find security within the insecure? Can you give up your desire for external security altogether? Can you find a place of security within - a sense of security that doesn’t rely on anything external, a habit or state?
Mercury and Jupiter
The New Moon is separating from a retrograde Mercury in Cancer on the Ascendent of this chart located in Washington D.C. Mercury has just retreated from gate 62, the gate describing “the details behind our logical ideas”, to gate 53, the gate describing “cyclical beginnings”.
The pressure has been building toward this new beginning, but we are afraid of losing past support. We need to find a way to convince ourselves and other people that this new direction is worth taking. The New Moon falls on the “Cross of the Maya”, which includes Gate 42. Gate 42 activates the “Channel of Maturation” with gate 53. It reinforces this idea of the beginning or ending of a cycle.
The New Moon is applying to Jupiter in Leo on the other side. Jupiter is in gate 31, the gate describing “influence”. There’s a sense of arrogance and entitlement in this desire to gain influence, to lead the people toward a fantasy destination (Neptune on the Midheaven). But the current trajectory is receiving momentous pushback by our allies or known enemies (Pluto in Aquarius in the 7th house).
Many astrologers have spoken very positively to these flowing aspects of the outer planets all at 4 degrees of their respective signs, anchored by the Jupiter and Pluto opposition. I think our fate could go in either direction and anything on a negative-positive polarity will depend on your perspective. They are two sides of the same coin, after all.
Uranus at 4 degrees Gemini symbolizes our dissatisfaction at what we are seeing in the world. Some people are using this dissatisfaction to their advantage. There are people using these conflicts as a way to justify minimizing resources for the common people’s needs. Pluto’s placement at 4 degrees Aquarius describes this justification of selfishness. While they distract us, they fill their own coffers. Neptune at 4 degrees Aries describes the distraction. More and more people are waking up to these tactics and it's just a matter of timing the tipping point.
Venus has recently entered Virgo, the sign of its fall, and is separating from the South Node. It's in Gate 59, line 6, about to transition into gate 40. This is about making temporary unions, which is exactly the strategy we've seen play out. Trump plays one person off the other, trying to gain leverage, to get the best deal. Venus has recently squared Uranus and is on its way to square Mars. During this New Moon, Mars is in gate 16, line 6, aptly labeled "gullibility". This is about propaganda and who will psyche out the other person first.
I started writing this post before the most recent attacks and this is how I described this placement: “Whatever ceasefires or financial negotiations have been made are likely to have already been disrupted and may be starting to break down more completely.”
We are also starting to confront AI propaganda and the stories we’ve been sold about the current capabilities vs. the cost. In “The Dead Economy Theory”, Owen McGrann writes:
Henry Ford understood, perhaps apocryphally but correctly in principle, that his workers needed to earn enough to buy his cars. The AI economy is eliminating the workers and expecting the cars to keep selling, except that software has near-zero marginal cost, so the entire value proposition is the elimination of the human cost center. The product is the removal of the customer base.
It has been surprising and disconcerting that so many leading tech leaders went all in on “being evil”. Now some of them are scrambling to save face. These propagandists are slowly starting to wake up to the reality of the animosity they’ve deliberately sowed into the collective about their true aims. But will they be able to gain the public’s trust again? AI is surely here to stay, but there most certainly will be a damaging fall out that results in a shift of leadership.
As I predicted with the Mercury station, Space-X experienced an initial pop and is now back to its listing amount. This is even after Elon wiggled his way into the Nasdaq-100 and so many financial analysts have hyped his stock. If you didn’t understand the dirty incentives behind analysts recommendations, it should be glaringly obvious now. If you watch their faces as they pump this stock, they either look cagey or extremely naive.
By the time Mercury turns direct, will Musk announce the merger of Tesla and Space-X as a way to prop up the stock? It’s looking highly likely. On that day, Tesla’s IPO chart has a double Mercury signature with Mercury stationing direct on its North Node and the Sun conjunct its Mercury degree.
